Hi
This is where I keep notes about things I make at home: sensors, shelves, a bit of automation, and now and then a bicycle or a photo. Nothing commercial here — mostly so that I don't forget what I did and how it turned out.
I write rarely, with no schedule and no categories. The site is static and hand-built, with no counters and no analytics.
Latest notes
-
Balcony weather station: second attempt
The first sensor read four degrees high because it sat in direct sun. Moved it under the eave and added a foil shield — now it looks believable.
-
Watering system: what broke in a year
Two hoses and the pump gave up. I took the pump apart and cleaned it, and it is still going. The hoses went to silicone.
-
Home server for photos
Moved the archive onto an SSD and left the old drive for nightly copies. Also finally found out why the case was noisy at night.
What I'm up to now
- Finishing a plant shelf with a light strip and a moisture sensor.
- Sorting out quiet cooling for the media cabinet — the fan hums at low speed.
- Reading up on pressure sensors, thinking of adding them to the weather station.
